When a chord change gets too fast for you or it’s not going to sound anything special enough, it can be helpful to memorise the sounds of the chords you already use – i.e. the notes of a melody.
This will help to speed up chord change.
Chord speed is important to learn – but it’s not the same as getting the notes of a chord right, as I explained earlier.
I think there’s a common perception that there is no real difference between the two: the former is just “business” and the latter “fairy tale,” a “tragedy” that’s all well and good, and if you’re feeling a bit depressed, just turn into “the monster that you fear will come to life” – a literal translation.
