First, realize that exercise is a key to weight loss. Just as dieting is necessary, exercise is essential and effective. Most people can afford the $1 per pound cost of exercise if they do it regularly. As we mentioned, however, this is not the same as losing weight. You have to be fit, physically active, and eat right to lose weight.
Second, the longer you wait to start exercising – at least a two weeks to get your body ready for the workout – the bigger the likelihood that the diet will work. If you wait too long, no amount of exercise will bring into play the key factors that will help you lose weight, such as eating a balanced meals, staying within your caloric needs, exercising in heat and cold weather, and so forth.
And finally, if you need to cut calories when you exercise, there are many, many ways to do this. We’ve done a variety of tricks we find that work on very obese people, just to give you some ideas. And there is the option of doing a 30-day fast. This is a little more expensive than doing your own exercise; unfortunately, though, we can’t offer the fasts in our bookstore, but you can probably find them online.
