I think I’ve gone on and on with this one, but I’m going to tell you now that it’s really a one-of-a-kind, one of-a-kind experience to be a part of. I have been asked, “are you guys going to play that in a band, too?” and all I can say is this: if you’ve never played an ukulele before, it’s definitely worth checking out.
It’s so much fun, and it’s very relaxing. Also, as a ukulele player, I have been asked, “are you going to sell your licks so people can buy them?” and I can tell you that I have no idea what that means! I have always wanted to make an album, but I haven’t done anything like this, and I have no idea how to do it! To be a part of something that means something to so many kids is totally awesome and is going to make all the fans really happy. I also hear that it’s an awesome place to live because, well, there are no walls. It’s like they really like the fans that come here, because you’re surrounded by kids who love ukulele.
I mean, I know that some people will be disappointed in my decision to go with vinyl, as a band, because of our vinyl policy. You know, why on earth did he (my PR guy) not ask me for a CD in this particular issue? But, as a band, I just think that in this day and age, vinyl is a fantastic format. It feels so great to have an album feel like you made it from start to finish. With a CD, you can be just waiting for it to come from your mom while she’s at work. There’s less pressure and there’s less pressure on me.
I think I’ll go with vinyl, but a CD’s the one I had sitting by the door all those years. I just really like it. For my albums that I don’t personally want to share with anybody, that’s where I’ll leave a CD, but for the ones that I like, I’ll just write my own music and make it on a computer.
