While a United Nations plan to transport aid to eastern Ukraine reached a halt last week because of Ukraine’s rejection of it, the United States has pledged its support for humanitarian efforts. A State Department spokesperson told CNN that more than 1,000 US personnel are involved in providing assistance, and that officials were considering “multiple options for using the equipment.”
