The grant is a financial commitment that may be extended to a prospective applicant for up to 4 years from the date of initial grant application.

The application

If you can apply to a Commonwealth Government department, or a State or Territory Government, you can apply through a consular officer at your nearest Australian Consulate General.

If you are unable to apply through a consular officer you can apply to a departmental officer at the departmental headquarters in Canberra. If you are unable to apply in person at your nearest Australian Consulate General you can apply to your local overseas diplomatic mission.
