Well, the answer is a simple one. Just pick 2 numbers and 2 possible outcomes.

Pick 1 number and 1 possible outcome.

Pick 2 numbers and 0 possible outcomes.

Pick 1 number and 0 possible outcomes again.

Repeat until you come up with an answer.

How did it work for me?

It took me 20 attempts and one of them took 10 minutes to complete, but the overall result was a 2.2% probability that the number I chose would be incorrect. Not perfect, and probably not what you’d want to aim for, given the number of possible outcomes.

You could get the same result with a poker-style method which rewards you with a higher number each turn, however it won’t be nearly as rewarding.

You can get the results in the video below, or you can also play the game directly using the app below that, or you can even build your own machine using the instructions listed below.

How does it work?

In order to win the game, you have to choose 2 numbers and 1 possible outcome.

One number is random. It just works.

The other number is different every single time, usually being either a higher or a lower number that you’ve picked.

The probability of the outcome that you pick is also the same every single time.

When you see a number like 2, you know there’s a 99% chance (2 x 2.2%) that that number will be correct. When you see a number like 1, you know there’s a 99% chance that that number will be correct.

There’s no specific sequence of numbers in the game at all. All numbers are used in random order, and are random between the first two numbers used (the first 2 numbers).

For the purposes of this app, when we say “random number” we mean that every number is created at random with no probability attached to it.

In other words, the first two numbers are the numbers I’ve selected. Then there’s the lower number and the higher number.

And finally the last number is random between the first two numbers using the same process as we use when choosing a number for a poker-style roulette game.

All these are the numbers used in the algorithm, and they are the same for every possible outcome in the game.

Why do I need to pick numbers and outcomes?
