Belly weight will usually start showing itself as a change in height on the same day. It may take 2 weeks to 3 weeks to see the big change, at which point we will consider that we have gained a lost belly.
What causes belly weight?
There are various causes of belly weight. All of these are quite common. The changes vary and it may be a result of the hormones that are released when we eat or the things that our gut bacteria do.
The changes you may experience due to hormonal changes are called ‘secretion’ or ‘absorption’. There are two ways our body uses and stores fat:

If we are gaining a lost belly it is probably due to the storage of the ‘basic’ fat and not the retention of metabolically efficient stored fat. It is this storage that is most important as it determines what the energy balance is on our long-term body fat levels.
It is possible that your tummy is now a lot bigger than normal, but there are many ways in which this can happen.
For example, you could be gaining fat in the abdominal area, but your belly is not moving around that much and is quite flat. The cause may be that your body does not have enough food coming in to support you, or due to physical damage to the abdominal area.
Also, it could be because you are taking in too much insulin or a medication that affects the pancreas as well. It is very important to find a doctor who can check your blood sugar and determine whether you are diabetic or not.
What are the symptoms?
The most common symptom of a lost belly is a feeling of heaviness around the stomach and abdomen. If you are losing weight, you will likely still feel this heaviness. It is an indication that your body is making the necessary adaptations that it has already done in order to lose the belly again.
