Why?

I’m a freelance forex trader. I started my career as a market maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Today, I’m a global market maker for Euro Pacific Group (EPG), one of the top 5 FX-trading firms in the world.

There are three ways a trader can use a forex indicator – price action, trend, and market depth. Let’s take a look at each in detail:

Price action – The price action in a forex market moves in accordance with the direction of a trend. For example, if a trader wants to profit from an increase in the USD/JPY, they’ll follow a trend toward a higher USD/JPY. A trader would expect to get more profit from an increase in the EUR/USD and vice versa.
