As a professional songwriter, that is what you hope to do. In the moment, and even when you are in a good writing rhythm, it could take you 10-15 minutes a day — not 10 hours — to learn. So if you have to put down some practice time today, maybe do that instead of watching someone else perform. You could just sit in your car and listen to music and get comfortable with what you do and make it easy on yourself.
I think most of us want to hear songs in all their complexity, but if you haven’t done so yet — it’s okay if it takes you a while; it’s okay if you really want to write something, but it would help if you start right with the end result. It will help if you are good about keeping a journal of your practice time.
In the meantime, just focus on learning to learn and the result is you will probably never make good music or anything like it.

This is the chilling moment a dog barks ‘Maggie’ before she is attacked by a pitbull mix.
The woman, 27, told how her seven-year-old Dachshund-type mix leapt onto her legs and attacked her as she attempted to leave a neighbour’s home.
She told how the dog attacked her as she walked by the road with her husband and son, while the man in the green shirt looked out of the window and watched as the attack happened.
In the footage, the dog can be seen lunging into the woman’s leg, knocking her to the ground where a second dog suddenly pounced on top of her and mauled her face.
The pair said they were not sure what had set the pitbull on them, adding that the woman tried to hold him off but was unable to.

The woman was rushed to hospital where she was operated on for serious injuries.
