Grant in aid means that there is a financial aid grant from the government to you to be awarded within a specific time period.
What are the different types of grants available?
There are 2 different types of grant in aid.
The first grant in aid is called the Consolidated Grants. These are money that the government grants in the order in which they apply and it is the only grant the University of Auckland is funded by. It covers students, staff and faculty from the University’s various campuses.
The second form of grant in aid is called the Non-Consecutive Grants which covers all students and staff at all higher education institutions.
What are the main types of grants in aid?
The Consolidated Grants (CP) apply to all students, staff and faculty at the University of Auckland.
The Non-Consecutive Grants (NCG) apply to all students and staff. These are grants that are granted in the order in which they apply. The NGC is funded by the Ministry of Justice and is used as aid for staff, as well as the students themselves.
In order to apply for a grant in aid that is funded by a Ministry or the Police, all you need to do is ensure you are a Student or Staff in good standing with the University. You can also apply for grants by completing and returning the Application for Grant in Aid.
If you haven’t applied for a grant in aid but have applied for a Non-Consecutive Grant, you need to have this finished and return this in order to receive it.
How do I apply?
You can apply online for a grant in aid from any time to any funding period. If you haven’t applied for a Grant in Aid but have applied for a Non-Consecutive Grant, you need to have this finished and return this to receive the grant. However, if you have applied and it has been decided that the grant is for you, you don’t need to have it finished and sent back to the university.
What is the process for Grant Grants with the Ministry of Justice?
The Ministry of Justice’s grants are awarded by the Civil and Administrative Courts. To apply for a grant you need to complete and return the application form. This is called a Court Grant application form and it can be downloaded from this link.
