What does the name Swing High do?
Swing Highs are the highest numbers on the chart in a particular cycle. Swing Lows are the lowest numbers on the chart in a particular cycle but swing highs are the highest numbers that hit and stay above these lows for a period, sometimes several cycles. Swing lows are the lowest numbers on the chart that have not been hit (or stayed above) a swing high for a period, usually a period of several weeks.

It can be helpful to look at the chart between swinging highs and swinging lows at any point in time. The number of cycles that fall between the two highs and lows tends to be larger and, for some cycles, is the sum of the number of swing highs and swing lows.
What does the name Swing Low mean?
Dow Jones is the last number for the last cycle, when the Dow Jones average was at 19,000. It is still the current low for the Dow Jones average, which is currently at 18,300.
It is also not uncommon for swings to start and end around low number one, but usually there will be other highs and lows along the way. For example, it is the 3-day low, or 5 day low for the 2nd week of July, which also started on the 3-day low.
It can be helpful to look at the chart between swinging high and low numbers with regard to the cycle itself. When the Dow Jones is at 19,000, it can be tempting to look for swings down towards 18,300 or below. But when the Dow Jones is at 18,300, the swings might start higher than 18,300.

Dow Jones is the last number for the last week on the chart, when the Dow Jones average was below 18,300.
It will be tempting to look at the chart between low numbers one and two for a week, or week and a half, and see swings on the way down between 18,300 and 19,000, for example.
