The picture was taken at night.
It was from the corner of 9th and 6th (near the end).
A crowd of about 1,000 people were in the plaza.
The police had it going for about 30 minutes.
The crowd grew and grew.
They were all so excited.
The cops were in their full uniform and had guns pointed at everyone.
The cop with the big badge took off his hat and put on a ball cap. He looked like a cop, but in his hat.
People had a funny reaction to his hat and boots.
He kept on pointing his hat at everybody.
There were two police cars driving past me who were trying to get my attention.
One of the cops was very calm. He didn’t seem to think much of it. Then he went and did his usual routine by talking with everybody who was in the middle of anything.
The policeman and I continued.
We were just sitting on the steps of the courthouse watching the parade go by.
When the parade got to the end the cops were pulling in front of it. They came in pretty quick. The little girls in the parade were all excited about that one moment.
They had their shoes and hats on and they were yelling and hugging everybody that was there.
The cops started telling the girls things.
They told them “We are here in court to represent you”
That was interesting.
But the girl got all nervous and then got up and left.
The cops weren’t happy about that. One of the cops looked at me and said “You will do anything if you want to go home.”
I think they got mad. I think one of the cops took off and the other one stayed in the corner, still smiling.
The cop got up and walked back with me to the courthouse.
When he got back to the plaza he started talking to everybody around me. He said “I wish everybody well.”
The cops were nice. They were just as nervous as I am.
He told the girls to get down on their knees next to him. Then he started yelling at her and told her to get down on the floor, and started hitting her. Then they started yelling at each other.
They went at it for about an hour.
