This is one of our earliest designs. The original was an afterthought, conceived and developed by a group of students, artists, and friends on an evening in the spring of 2009. In 2010, a group of students decided to incorporate the project into a larger project of their own–the “Fantastic Four” project.
Our original plan was to simply use the drawings of our students into the fabric and then to design the fabric around the original drawings. After seeing the finished final product, we decided to take things a step further. Rather than just redesign the fabric using the original drawings, we wanted to incorporate each student’s original design into the fabric itself!

The World Trade Center has been renamed the Freedom Tower since September 11, but that doesn’t mean people can’t buy condos there. The city of Chicago is trying to stop that.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s plan to rename the World Trade Center was met with resistance by residents and politicians, who said it was an insult to the people of New York and Washington, D.C.
Emanuel, a Democrat who has a reputation for being a liberal, announced last weekend that the city was changing the name for economic reasons and “in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices people across the country have made to the city.”
Citizens protested at City Hall and at the memorial site on Sunday.
“I understand where the mayor, he wants to put the World Trade Center — it’s a great city. I just want to say they have no business to put a name in our history,” said Barbara Bresco, who lives in Fort Lauderdale.
