For a while now I’ve been debating which type of guitar is best. I love it when someone comes along and really comes up with something new. But it’s really hard to be an expert. I have played this thing for over a year and no one is right for the job.
So I asked what it was I can do to be a better guitar player. I thought about what I did do before that and realized: The first thing you need to do is learn guitar. The first thing you need to do is practice your solos. Then you take your time on the way down, and then you take your time on the way up. As you get better, you do it every day, with practice and patience, and get good.
This is probably a pretty stupid question, but I feel it’s not wrong to ask. I’m probably at my best in the fourth guitar part of the day, so I’m not going to tell you what to do. But if you listen to this one, the first 3 guitar spots are really really important. I play the last one in the 3rd bar with a full swing (which I think is not really called a swing in the right parts of the world). Because I think you’ll be happier if you know what to do in the beginning before you play. It’s the “how to” that I’ve come up with to play better.
Also, if you have any questions feel free to ping me at @petergolm. I might even have your voice on the next LP.

An important issue that comes up from time to time is the concept of a “critical mass.” Most people are pretty familiar with the concept, but what do we mean when we talk about being a critical mass? What happens when there are a lot of people with the same interests – or the desire for the same thing – that we have? What does that mean for the world around us, and is it sustainable?
In the last few days several people have called out the fact that we often don’t have enough to eat from the grocery store, particularly for the poor and working class.
And I find this an interesting idea – and I’d like to hear what you folks think.
