Well I’m not the best at sewing shirts because I had the misfortune of working at a store where there was literally no time to get it together. So this is exactly what you do—you take it to a tailor and then a seamstress and put it together.

If you have an old sewing machine, you could easily pull it out of its box and use it as a sewing machine. But I prefer to carry a sewing machine around and use it when it’s time to make my work clothes — I can’t be bothered to make it all by hand just to figure out how everything’s going to fit. It has so many uses I want to go on, like:
Tailoring: I use the exact same basic instructions for my tailoring when I’m ready to sew on clothes. The only difference is I use a special fabric called Drapes. Drapes are like quilted dresses that you sew on with a regular machine. I don’t have any special knowledge on how to sew fabric but it’s super easy for me to follow the directions. One thing about Drapes, though: If you want to buy one, get really good at reading them. When they say “Carmen” or any other particular name, the most important thing is not whether or not the fabric is actually “carmen.” If the fabric is not a “carmen,” then it doesn’t belong with me. I want it to be just right: a bit thicker/thicker/flareier than normal and in a style that fits. If you want to make your own, it’s pretty easy.
