Well…they don’t need a whole lot of tension as they actually stretch as they get longer…but for long braids to have a little bit of resistance is necessary. I suggest trying to hold them by using your wrist. Just hold a section of the ends of your hair at the same position – you will be a lot better if you can hold your hair in a way not holding it in place. Don’t be afraid to twist and change your braids, or try braiding the extra ends if you want to.
What are some important braiding tips?
Make sure you work from the top part of your head, not the back as the waves will run the other way. In order to get the waves as wide and as flat as possible, try using a hairband rather than braids. If you want to create a round, pointy style, go for a thicker braided knot to make the wave more natural.

After a week of criticism about the fact that the Obama administration is refusing to release the long-secret court order granting the NSA much of the authority it’s been snooping on Americans’ phone calls to and from, it looks like the problem isn’t that the administration is going about its business in a way that threatens the civil liberties of Americans. As Motherboard reported yesterday on the NSA document dump revealed by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, the Obama administration has been doing its best to prevent the release of certain details. That may be changing today in relation to the NSA’s phone surveillance program, which the Washington Post reports:
A White House memo obtained by The Washington Post details the efforts the administration is making to keep information from The Post and other news outlets about how the administration has gone about implementing its controversial spying program. The document comes a day after The Post revealed that the National Security Agency is searching through the data stored by American Internet companies, seeking to gather the phone numbers and the e-mail addresses of millions of Americans.
